This beautiful tablet is from Gudea (his name is on the 5th line down).  It is dedicated to Ningirsu. It is not clay, but carved stone. The translation is similiar to the one found on the foundation cone. On this tablet, Gudea commemorates his restoration of a defensive wall for the city of Girsu. The necessity of restoring the city's defensives indicates the kind of times Gudea lived in.  Enlarge the tablet.
